Quilted Maple & Bloodwood Live -Edge Box

Big Leaf Pacific Coast maple wood is always mesmerizing. We married it to some bloodwood that was waiting for just the right partner. 

We utilized a variation of Kintsugi or, "golden joinery." It's an ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.

We didn't exactly pour gold, but we did pour gold epoxy. Scars should be celebrated. This box is living proof.
