For your consideration, this is a handmade box using beautifully figured black limba wood with African Padauk corner splines.
The box features antique brass hardware including a throw latch front clasp, an 8-inch recessed stop hinge, and feet depicting owls with wings outstretched.
The box measures 12" wide, 9" deep and 7.75" tall. It's been finished in three coats of premium satin laquer after having been sanded to a smooth 400g.
